My name is Karla and I am a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in photojournalism. I've worked as a freelance photographer, a Pulliam Fellow at the Arizona Republic in the photo and video department, at a production, post-production and sound facility in Raleigh, NC, and currently as the lead video producer and editor for a major political organization working with the Hillary Clinton campaign.

I am passionate about storytelling. I love going to new places, meeting new people, and having the opportunity to tell new stories. I believe everyone should have a voice because every person's story matters. It is a privilege to be able to share those voices in a visual and creative way.

I truly believe that visual journalism can make a profound difference in our world. The experiences that I have had with a camera in my hand, from across the world in the Outback of Australia to back in the US in a small town in Kentucky, have proven that to me. I look forward to continuing my work in this field.
